great program, worthe the investment. I used that program only for staff and tech, made it first time testing both times, never cracked the book

Just tested for chief last week, and I incorporated PDG Gold into my study plan. I also used it extensively for making E-8. So speaking for trying to make these two top grades, I would caution against relying on PDG Gold too much in a study plan. Most of your PDG Gold quizzes and tests are knowledge based questions, and what I have seen testing for SMSgt and CMSgt is those WAPS tests go a little more indepth in their questioning. The AF test makers have a knack for either pulling a piece of information buried in a PDG paragraph…something you may never pay much attention to while studying. Sometimes I wonder if they are also wise to these programs and purposely develop the WAPS test to make PDG Gold less effective. This year, I say maybe 5 to 10 questions translated straight from my PDG Gold to what I saw on my test. The last year I tested for SMSgt, it was less than 5! I believe PDG Gold strengthens your testing abilities, but I would caution against over-reliance on it. It\’s good to mix a blend of reading the book, and some PDG Gold to keep it interesting. In the PDG, really focus on those chapter topics they tend to hit on a lot based on your testing experience. For testing for SSgt – MSgt, PDG Gold is probably a little more effective based on the nature of the questioning…I never used it for those efforts since I didn\’t own a computer back in those days.

– Pros: Interactive games, self-tests, quizzes, flash cards, WAPS Calculator, historial promotion rates, testing history.

– Cons: Cheesy interface, cumbersome navigation, inability to migrate license to multiple computers.
